Eradication and Controlling of Alien and Invasive Species

These include: Lantana Camara, Mexican daisy, Epiphyllum oxypetalum, Poinsettia, Sisal, Cactus, Black jack and Cat’s claw creeper just to name a few. This project is ongoing and began in 2008. These species upset the balance in the ecosystem within this area and prevent the growth of natural species indigenous to the Hillside Dams Conservancy and its surrounding area.

The result of doing this is the regrowth of species natural to the area such as various aloes and orchids that would have otherwise been going extinct and are now starting to resurface.
